» Strip-Poker xXx: version 2 is online

Strip-Poker.xXx version 2 comes up with a lot of change. The game is still the same, a multiplayer video strip-poker but the way the website operate is not the same as before. In this post, I will explain in details why we did these changes and f course what they actually are. A lot of technical improvements will also be detailed.

The results of Strip-Poker.xXx first version are mixed. The game appealed to a lot of players as anynone could see by looking at the highscores board. However, in more than 6 months, the site was unable to find a financial balance. This problem really matters because if the site can't make a profit, we won't be able to improve it and to update it with new opponents.

We see two reasons that could explain this:

• The game had a lot of technical issues and players were driven away from the site because of them
• Buying either chips or hearts didn't seem like a good deal to the players

TLDR; » We decided to make a version 2 of Strip-Poker.xXx which goal is to clear these two problems. In short, a lot of technical issues have been fixed and the website works now with a much simpler subscription system which gives a full access to all the rooms.

No more levels, entry fees nor locked girls

In the first version, the rooms were ordered by levels. To play in a room, a player had to pay an entry fee with their chips and to unlock all the girls with their hearts. All these things have changed. Levels, entry fees and locked girls don't exist anymore.

There are now 3 kinds of rooms in which a girl is never locked:

• Free rooms where all the players can play without any time limit
• Premium rooms where only premium members (players who got a subscription) can play
• Private rooms that a premium member can create to play alone against the girls of his choice

Playing for free: rankings and awards

One of the big points in favor of Strip-Poker version 1 is that a combative player could play for free if he was able to win enough chips and hearts. We decided that this will still be possible to play for free in version 2 but in a way that is more fun and that promote competition between players. Indeed, a system of rankings by week, month and year has been set up following a player suggestion. Each week, each month and each year, the player who was ranked first wins the same time of access to premium rooms: a player who won the july ranking can so play for free in August or even better, the player who wins 2013 ranking can play for free all the year long in 2014!

Playing for free: exchanging hearts

Furthermore, we also set up a system to let players exchange their hearts against a 24 hours access to premium rooms. So, the players who do not manage to win a ranking have an other way to play for free in the premium rooms.

Other improvements

Beyond these fundamental changes, you will also find a lot of new stuff on Strip-Poker.xXx like a profil page with a news system and detailed stats on your performances, graphical improvements and a system of distinctions with stars. Read the doc to know more or play to discover them.

Of course, those of you who helped the website to live by buying chips or hearts will get a compensation in the new system: players who bought something on Strip-Poker.xXx during the last 3 months will get a free access to the premium rooms for a time depending on their purchase amount. We really thank you for your support! This access time will be activated the next time you log in so you can wait before playing if you want to.

Many technical issues have been fixed. Here comes a non-exhaustive list of these improvements on Strip-Poker.xXx:

• Re-encoding of all the videos for a better support across web browsers
• Refreshing a room is now possible without being kicked out in case a bug freezes the game
• Improvement of players synchronization in the rooms
• If a player leaves a room and then comes back, his stack will be restored to the same amount
• Players progression is automatically saved, rooms are not closed anymore when the players leave
• UI improvement (now shows the number of items a girl has left and detailed stats about players)
• Players hands are displayed at showdown
• Ability to customize a profil by uploading an avatar
• The game is now fully playable in french
• Automatic reconnection to the game server in case of network problems
• Beginning of Android support (ice-cream sandwich and later) (may still be unstable)
